Choosing a safari company on the Northern Tanzanian circuit is not an easy task, as there are MANY companies! From the beginning I could tell that Jiwe Adventures is a company with a difference ... from the great website, and Joao's attentive and prompt email responses which puts one at ease regardless of your type of query. The good experience continued upon arrival in Moshi and meeting Edgar (Director) and other Jiwe adventures staff. I was travelling solo through Tanzania and wanted to join a group of travelers to do the 5 day safari with - Jiwe adventures helped with linking me up with a group. And as for the safari itself ... its hard to go wrong with destinations like the Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater - but Jiwe adventures certainly made the trip a whole lot better through a fantastic guide (Tuma) and the food which was well prepared by chef Rondasy.

I traveled to Tanzania with my boyfriend last year. We climbed on top of Mount Kilimanjaro in 8 days and then we did 6 days safari in various national parks. Jiwe Adventures organized everything for us and we had a great time. Our guide on the Kilimanjaro was expert and reliable, only thank to him we made it to the top. The food war freshly cooked everyday and very tasty. Then on the safari we had again a very knowledgeable guide and we saw plenty of wild animals. The tented camp was a truly wild experience! Tanzania was the best trip of my life!

My partner and I did a safari with Jiwe Adventures last August and it was really great. Edgar (Jiwe's owner) treated us well. Always worried about our trip, helping us with all of our doubts since the first moment, he prepared the safari according to our wishes. Very professional person. In addition I have to say that Jiwe is really cheap considering the quality Edgar offers. I really recommend Jiwe adventures for your safari in Tanzania. And also recommend it for climbing Kilimanjaro!! We did it with Jiwe and was as perfect as our safari!!

Our group of four (family and friends) worked directly with Edgar at Jiwe adventures to customize a safari to fit our interests. From arrival at Kilimanjaro to departure from the Lobo airstrip for a Zanzibar beach stay, everything was beautifully planned. We began with a day trip to Arusha Nat'l Park to 'meet' our first wildlife and take time for a ranger-led hike and canoeing. Next to Tarangire Nat'l Park (Ndovu Camp); a school and local tribe visits near Lake Eyasi; then into the Serengeti, staying at Kati Kati tented Camp and up to the Mara River in the north, staying at Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp. An amazing sight - the wildebeest crossing. But so much more: five female lions taking their positions to hunt zebra; herds of Cape buffalo; such abundant bird life! And our guide, Chris, was superb: the depth and breadth of his knowledge, and his joy in sharing information on all aspects of the ecosystem was so appreciated. The camps were so comfortable, and the staff so welcoming and capable (the meals!). Truly the trip of a lifetime, with so many cherished memories.

From the start, our experience with Jiwe adventures was a good one. They promptly responded to our every question, ranging from "Where should we stay?", via "What should we wear?" to "How can we charge our cameras?". Chris, our driver and guide, and Ally, our chef, gave us an amazing 5 days and 4 nights in 3 different locations. We went to Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti for 2 nights, and finally Tarangire for our last night. All the time they did their utmost to make our trip enjoyable, delightful and exciting. Chris had vast knowledge and incredible eyesight, spotting game in the most unlikely places. We got to see almost everything we wanted, but never found any rhinos. He would also be a welcome help when dealing with peddlers along the road, giving us sage advice on how to behave, what to expect, and what was fair. Ally, also known as Mr Delicious, or Mr D, truly deserves his nickname! His dishes were a true delight, and coming back to camp in the afternoon to find not only food, but delightful feasts, was always a great end to the day. His culinary skills on modest equipment in the middle of the Serengeti still amazes me to this day. How one cooks a pizza so fluffy and fresh on a gas burner I have no idea. Neither do I know how he managed to make the best french fries I've had out there on the waste savannas. Enjoyed it we did! I cannot recommend them enough, and the team at Jiwe adventures has been nothing but a delight the whole way.

Just finished the 7-days Machame route up the Kilimangaro with a Jiwe adventures team. We had 2 great guides (Benjamin and Goodluck), a fine cook (Tarimo) and 11 friendly and helpful porters. It is, of course, hard to compare with other companies, but we were extremely pleased with JIWE. Here are some of the reasons: - Booking: very good experience (with Edgar), fair price. - Guides: Very experienced, helpful, friendly and responsible guides. - Every evening after dinner, they measured our oxygen saturation and pulse and filled a questioner (e.g. about headaches, nausea etc.) to track our physical state. Altitude related sickness was one of our main reasons for concern, and it helped to calm us down knowing that we are under good care. - Excellent quality of tents, mattresses and sleeping bags (which they provided) - Overall good atmosphere and vibes. We enjoyed not only being at the summit, but also getting there. Although it is possible to make the hike in 6-days (and I think this is what most people do), we definitely recommend taking the 7-days options: It makes the last days more relaxed and fun, and gives better opportunity for acclimatization. In conclusion: We highly recommend Jiwe adventures for Mount Kilimanjaro climb.

We had an amazing time on this safari, made possible by a great group of people in Jiwe adventures. We had emailed a few tour operators to help in planning for this trip, and this company stood out on so many levels. We found their email correspondence to be very prompt, professional and comprehensive which made it very easy to customize our trip. They were also very reasonably priced compared to some other operators. We did a 7 day safari trip, alternating between camping and staying in lodges and covered Tarangire Lake Manyara, Central Seregenti, South Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi to visit the Hadzabe tribe. We got very lucky (plus thanks to our guides' eagle eyes!) and saw the big 5, lions mating, a wildebeest giving birth, elephants, thousands of zebras and wildebeest, plus also had the special experience of having lions surround our car to take shade from the sun. The trip to go hunting with the Hadzabe tribe was also another highlight, and we couldn't recommend it more. What made our experience extra special though was Chris, our guide, Ally, our chef. They were so friendly, so helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They went out of their way to make us feel as comfortable as possible. Big thanks to Jiwe Adventures for making our trip so wonderful, we will always be grateful for the experience.

After checking a few companies Jiwe adventures was the one that gave us the best feeling because of the good communication forehand and good reviews. We chose a combination of two packages and that really suited our wishes. We did two nights of camping and two nights in a lodge. We had a 5-day safari trip with Lake Manyara NP, Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro and Serengeti NP starting from Moshi and it was more than we ever wished for. Our guide/driver Chris is the best and I would recommend him to everybody. He knows a lot about every national park and there differences as well as every animal and all the best spots to find them due to his experience and the great communication with other drivers. We completed the big 5 and saw so much more! It was like a dream come true and we will definitely come back to Jiwe!

Well, what can I say about the great safari experience I had with Jiwe adventures? To say this company bent over backwards to help me would be an understatement. They did everything I asked and more, from collecting me at the airport and arranging my hotel and doing the same for my return home but lets get to the safari, WOW it was fantastic! We started off in Tarangire then onto the Serengeti and finally Ngorongoro Crater. The guide was very skilled at finding and providing information about the animals. The experience of seeing so many varieties of animals in the wild was amazing. He stopped when asked and he knew so much about the animals. We got to see all of the big 5. Now onto the chef. Well, the food was out of this world!! 3 meals a day and was top class. The guys would also bring me to local shops in the evening to get some beers and snacks. If I ever have an opportunity to go back to Tanzania I know the first call I will be making will be to JIWE ADVENTURES. 10/10

If you are looking for a company to guide you in achieving the incredible feat of climbing Kilimanjaro, look no further. Jiwe Adventures staff is most professional, kind, warm, and friendly. You will bond not only with the people in your group, but the staff as well, and possibly make some valuable, life-long friendships. In addition, some very important things to think about: The home-cooked meals were amazing, especially considering you are camping on a mountain, away from civilization. I always felt satisfied, well-nourished, and never hungry. The tents are quite roomy and comfortable. The guides and porters are most accommodating, helping all along the way and every minute, be it with special requests or even a vote of confidence and moral support. Jiwe Adventures makes you forget all the daily luxuries you are used to... They even make you forget home! That's how well taken care of you are. I also did a safari with them and that was also a most incredible and memorable experience. My safari guide was most knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. All-in-all, I could not have asked or expected for more. I would say this was a perfect experience and memory that I will cherish my whole life.
