“Staring into the eyes of silver-back gorilla. Priceless!” - Pip Strickland

Gorillas and Guards with Guns

Views: 797 Visited: Aug 2010 Reviewed: Sep 30, 2014

Being a mere five metres from a silver-back Gorilla is an adrenaline rush! We had been trekking for around 4 hours through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park until our scouts radioed in that there was a gorilla family up ahead. But it was definitely worth the effort. The family comprised maybe 20 individuals, each munching away in their own little world as we stood by in disbelief. The young ones joked playfully with each other and a few stared back at us with quiet intrigue. With prices escalating to see gorillas in the wild it really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience but one I would highly recommend putting on your bucket list!
