“Beware of long queues at entry” - Sham

Spectacular views and lazy game...but easy to see!

I must say here is where I got to encounter Africa’s laziest animals…or what do I call lions that don’t roar at people even at almost four meters! We arrived at the Ngorongoro Crater a bit early in the morning, since our trip advisor had warned of the long lines at the entry point into the park. After almost 30 minutes in the line, we finally made our way into the park. The scene was awesomely spectacular, and the flamingoes flapping their wings as if saying ‘Welcome to the Crater.’ Inside the crater is a picturesque scene, especially the crater walls that seem obscured from sight at a distance but as you move closer they become more beautiful. The morning weather was the best…no unnecessary sweating and the photography was amazing. A few hours into the crater we sat down for a morning snack, and the monkeys were not hesitant to join us!

At Ngorongoro conservancy I got to see the first ever baby rhino…and I wouldn’t picture how huge it would be in a few years. The African joke is that the warthog runs for a few minutes from a lion and it forgets, and ideally I got to see it run and all over a sudden STOP…and start eating grass!
