Plains stretching as far as the eye can see under an expanse of blue sky, an incredible array of wildlife, and sleeping in tents at classic safari camps. Great experience

Views: 159 Visited: Dec 2018 Reviewed: Apr 01, 2019

We could see all the wild animals, most of them in close quarters. Lions, giraffes, elephants, everywhere. Lots of hippos, 3 leopards, 7 cheetahs at near handshaking distance.

Lake Manyara park is a waste of time if you plan to go to central Serengeti.

Stay in tented accommodation to get a natural feeling. We experienced elephants passing by, lion's roar at night and were greeted by two giraffes 50 meters from our tent. read more

We saw all the big fives, crocodiles, birds. It's was what I call the best way to start the year and when you are safaris with your clients. read more

This was a lifetime experience and I feel proud to have done it! The trip was organised as part of a family wedding safari where we went out exploring for the first 5-6 days. We stayed at the Mbalageti Safari Lodge located in the Western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. One of the main attractions was the migration of the wildebeests which we saw at sunrise. This was so exciting and interesting! During the Safari I also got to see lion... read more

Serengeti: vast and powerful

Views: 492 Visited: May 2010 Reviewed: Sep 04, 2013

After experiencing Serengeti National Park's vast size, varied scenery and amount of wild life, Yellowstone Park, in comparison, is no more than my back yard. Our outfitter was a professional yet personal outfitting company with very experienced guides that never tire of giving people the best experience of their life.
The lodging at Mbalageti was first class and very authentic, I felt like I was always in Africa yet the accommodations were m... read more

Never a dull moment in this vast African Eden

The Serengeti National Park offers a truly unique experience - there's quite literally something to see at every turn.

We visited the park in June, and traveled from the beautiful Mbalageti Safari Camp to the (slightly clichéd) Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge.

I have never seen so much game in my life. Within moments of entering the park we saw a cheetah chase down a gazelle. Minutes later we came across a lion napping in a tree. Over th... read more

The best of the best!

I would have to say that this is the best adventure, the best safari I have ever had and trust me I have been to places.
What the Serengeti brings to the world is a simply wonderful small little slice of a variety of animals in large quantities. As a world heritage site you can expect the best and the best is what I got. I had the opportunity to see different animals like the king of the jungle, the lion, elephants, zebras, impalas, monkeys,... read more

Endless plains...endless predators

Views: 453 Visited: Jul 2012 Reviewed: Aug 30, 2013

On television nobody even attempts to make the Serengeti look believable; aerial shots of a million wildebeest, a hyena that sounds like Whoopi Goldberg, lions attacking elephants. Meaning “endless plains” in local Swahili, the Serengeti is a freak of nature. Nowhere else in the world does the grass grow so quickly and abundantly says my guide. Even at the entrance gate it doesn't seem real, three belligerent baboons jumping through our truck ... read more

Vast. Expensive. Amazing.

We had a great experience in the Serengeti, though I'm still a bit miffed by their exorbitant prices compared with the rest of...you know...THE WORLD.
This is a bit of a difficult place to do a self-drive (I don't think they like it due to lost tour/guide money - understandable), but it CAN be done.
We drove through Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, and it was silly. Some things are too surreal to use a standard adjective, so I'm going with sill... read more

The serene and vast plains of the Serengeti

Having been on several safaris I would say when it comes to choosing an idyllic safari location the Serengeti is the park of all parks. When I first arrived here I could not get over how vast this place is. It makes me happy that there are still some places left for animals to roam freely in an abundance of nature.

Whether you're into bird watching, you want to witness the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world, or you want to be... read more
