Day 1: Arrive Cape Town International Airport

Welcome to Cape Town! You will be met at the door of your aircraft with your name on a paging board, and your documents will be handed over to you in a VIP travel compendium. You will be assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You will then be shown to your awaiting transfer vehicle. (Note for Australian travellers, this meet and greet will occur on arrival into Johannesburg).

Arrive at Claremont, a stunning leafy suburb in Cape Town's southern region at the base of Table Mountain National Park. Check in and enjoy four nights at Vineyard Hotel & Spa in a mountain facing deluxe room with breakfast daily. (Includes 1 free night!)

This afternoon your guide will collect you and you’ll head into the city to the iconic Table Mountain where you’ll ascend by cable car (weather dependent) to get spectacular views of the city below. On our descent we'll head to the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where you'll have a private walking tour with your knowledgeable guide.

You'll then return to the hotel in time to freshen up before dinner. Dinner this evening is at award-winning chef Mike Bassett's venture at Myoga Restaurant in the hotel, where you'll enjoy a delicious 7 course gourmet Tasting menu (excluding wines).   Gorgonzola creme brulle, risotto of baby clams and salami and tomato wonton lasagne are just some of the contemporary fusion dishes on the menu.

Day 2: City Gourmet Walking Tour: Half day

Today you'll head into the city for an exciting introduction to some local flavours, experiencing the city from an architectural, a historical, a shopping and a culinary point of view.  Each aspect works hand in hand in experiencing a city and its people!   We’ll start in the Malay Quarter where a walking tour will introduce you to a variety of cultures and traditional foods of the area. From African Soul Food to Traditional Babobie, milk tart to gourmet bunny chows, this is a colourful introduction to the city’s inhabitants and a journey into the past. A highlight of the morning will be a cooking experience in the home of one of the Malay ladies, where you’ll be taught to make roti’s, fold samosas and make a traditional Cape Malay curry before sitting down and enjoying a delicious lunch. This afternoon is spent in the heart of the city meeting locals and discovering the vibey Greenmarket Square with its market and the tranquil Company Gardens, home to the SA Museum and steeped in history from the time of the first European settlement in South Africa.

You'll be dropped off back at Vineyard Hotel for an afternoon at leisure.

In the evening, get ready for a gastronomic experience! With a menu to die for and a reputation as one of Cape Town’s most innovative chef’s, Luke Dale-Roberts (ex La Colombe) offers an exciting new concept in dining with his Woodstock based restaurant – The Test Kitchen . Dinner this evening is an 8 course Gourmand menu enjoying delights such as pan seared duck breast with cashew nut and turnip puree. (excludes transfers. The hotel can assist with driver/taxi)

Day 3: Constantia Wine Region: Private Full Day

After breakfast, be ready in reception at 09h00 where you'll be met by our private Wine connoisseur and head off on a full day tour of the Constantia region.  As you drive through this historical valley, it becomes apparent why the first Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, chose this situation for his farm, Constantia. Visit Klein Constantia Wine Estate. As part of the original vineyard that in the 18th century produced “Constantia”, prized throughout Europe by the leaders and aristocracy of the time, Klein Constantia has helped to reclaim its former glory by initiating the revival of this famous sweet wine. Afterward, proceed to Groot Constantia Wine Estate where the roots of the South African wine industry lie. It is the oldest wine producing farm in South Africa. Our stop at Groot Constantia includes a visit to the Manor House which houses a cultural history museum portraying the early years of Groot Constantia. Afterward, we enjoy a tour of the Cloete Cellar. Dating back to 1791, the original wine cellar houses a display of drinking vessels and wine making equipment. Its beautiful pediment gable is not to be missed. You will end your visit to Groot Constantia with a wine tasting followed by lunch at Jonkershuis Restaurant (lunch at own expense).

Afer lunch, your final estate visit is to Steenberg Estate. Steenberg wines have been awarded many international and local accolades for their outstanding quality.  The Steenberg farmstead, including the manor house and the other buildings, have been declared a national monument. The main gable, a ‘holbol' outlined by heavy mouldings in a small keystone, is the only surviving example of its type in the Cape Peninsula. Visit the state-of-the-art cellar, completed in 1996, and has the capacity to produce around 70,000 cases. The cellar also boasts a vinoteque, where bottled wines can be kept under ideal conditions until ready to be enjoyed. Upon conclusion of our tour, we travel via Ou Kaapse Weg and via the Atlantic Seaboard back to the city. The tour ends on arrival back at your hotel around 17h00.

DAY 4: Cape Point & Peninsula Tour: Private Full Day Tour (lunch incl)

Set off this morning on a guided Cape Point and Peninsula tour. Start at the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay and then cross over to Hout Bay, where you can join an optional short cruise to Seal Island to see the breeding colony of Cape Fur Seals. From here, drive to the Cape of Good Hope National Reserve via Chapman’s Peak, where you will board a funicular (cable car) for an excellent vantage point from which to observe the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as well as spectacular views over False Bay. Continue to the naval base at Simonstown and visit the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. For lunch, enjoy an extra-special, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: lunch at the BoatHouse, celebrity chef Bruce Robertsons personal home! (This is mainly a seafood lunch, please specify your dietary requirements). After an exciting lunch and some intriguing conversation, head back to Cape Town, stopping along the way for a stroll at the world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens (time permitting).

Day 5: The Winelands and a Classic Cape Cuisine Walk

After breakfast, it's time to check out and meet our private driver/guide in reception at the agreed time.

Today you are heading out of the city to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s 2nd oldest town to savour traditional Cape food and drinks as your guide leads you through the historic heart of Stellenbosch with its beautiful architecture and oak-lined streets by foot. This fantastic tour includes tastings of indigenous teas and old-style rusks, wine tasting (non-alcoholic alternatives available), traditional snacks, heritage lunch platter at the oldest hotel in the country, Cape desserts and nostalgic sweets when visiting the legendary Oom Samie se Winkel, the oldest shop in town.

You'll then head over the picturesque Helshoogte Pass with a stop at renowned estate Delaire for a wine tasting in their chic tasting room before heading to the village of Franschhoek.

Check in and spend two nights at the stunning Le Quartier Francais in an Auberge room with breakfast included daily.

Dinner tonight is a real treat at Le Quartier Francais' Tasting Room. Famed chef Margot Janse continues to ensure that the Tasting Room is talked about all over the world. Diners pick and choose from an exciting, extensive list which changes according to seasonal produce and daily whim - it's all about the sensual taste experience. The new room is a haven of calm and the subdued colours of wine, mushroom and taupe, offset by the quiet gleam of pale wood finishes, encourage one to relax and open up to the whole dining experience. Dinner this evening is a 8 course Tasting menu (excluding wines).

Day 6: Winelands, Chocolate, Cheese & Olives: Private Full Day

This tailor-made tour by your resident wine expert is designed for the visitor who would like to experience and taste some of the other delectable delights that are also on offer in the winelands area in addition to some of the fantastic wines. The tour is geared not only for the tasting but for the educational value as well as learning about each product that you are introduced to. Your day can include Paarl, with its imposing Afrikaans Language Monument and of course the Franschhoek Valley, including exceptional estates such as Haute Cabriere, Moreson, La Motte and Grande Provence. You will delight in cheese tasting, chocolate tasting, olives and olive oil tastings. Lunch will be at the award winning La Motte estate, where a special counter table at the creative Pierneef restaurant will be set up so you can interact with your chef as he prepares you meal. Return to your hotel late this evening after a final wine tasting.

Day 7: Mountains to Coastline

Today we depart the Winelands heading towards the coast where we travel over the scenic Franschhoek Pass through the apple growing regions of Elgin and Grabouw. The Overberg area is fast gaining a reputation amongst wine aficionados with its unique and characterful vineyards cooled by the sea breezes. Our first stop will be at La Vierge to sample a selection of their wines while overlooking the valley below. We’ll visit one of the world leaders in Pinot noir wines at Bouchard Finlayson and one of the closest wine estates to the sea at Hamilton Russel before heading into the town of Hermanus to enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at The Marine Hotel (lunch at own expense).

This afternoon is at leisure to explore the town by foot or wander along the clifftop paths to secluded coves and pristine beaches or opt to take a boat cruise from nearby Gansbaai to view the magnificent Great white sharks up close and personal (additional cost). Enjoy one night at Ocean Eleven Guest House in a standard room with breakfast included. (Whale season June - Nov)

Day 8: Hermanus to Cape Town to Safari!

It's an early start after breakfast as you'll be met by our private driver and transferred back to Cape Town airport in time to check in for your flight to Hoedspruit Airport. (flight not incl) On arrival collect your bags and proceed to arrivals where our driver will be waiting for you!  It's time to venture to your safari location.

Spend three nights at Pondoro Game Lodge on safari with three meals a day, morning and evening game drives, a bushwalk, tea and coffee included.

Day 9 & 10: On safari

Day 11: Safari to Victoria Falls

After breakfast, it's time to bid the safari team goodbye and venture back to the airport for your flight (not incl) to Victoria Falls (via Johannesburg, no direct flights from Hoedspruit).  On arrival, you'll be welcomed and assisted to the transfer vehicle and taken (with fellow guests as this is a shared transfer) to the famous Victoria Falls Hotel.

Enjoy two nights with breakfast daily, a sunset cruise on the Ralkane boat, dinner for two at the Boma restaurant and high tea for two at Victoria Falls Hotel.

Day 12: Victoria Falls

Spend the morning exploring Victoria Falls at your own leisure before you stimulate your taste buds with the fabulous High Tea on the terrace overlooking the gorge and in the distance, the spray of the falls (at high waters)

Day 13: Home time

After a leisurely breakfast, it's time to check out and transfer to the airport. (flight not included)
