Our unique Cultural safaris will take you on an adventure of a lifetime, into the heart of the Tanzania northern safari circuit. Nowhere else in Africa do we find the sheer numbers of animals, predators and carnivores like the African lion, or the ease with which these animals can be viewed, as in Tanzania. Our 10 Day Cultural safari was designed for the traveler with an adventurous spirit, seeking an intimate experience in the local African tribes, but also still taking advantage of enjoying a wildlife safari which includes visits to Arusha National park, Tarangire National park, Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks, Lake Eyasi, and the famous Ngorongoro Crater which, features one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa.

Itinerary

Pre day: Arriving Tanzania

Our Safari adventure starts the Moment you land at Kilimanjaro international Airport, You will be met by our staff at the airport and transferred to Moshi in the peaceful surrounds of our comfortable accommodation Parkview inn Hotel http://www.pvim.com/ from where there are great views of the mountain. You can relax by the pool before your briefing with the Guides, who will provide the essential information for your safaris

Day 1: Moshi – Arusha National Park

Our driver will Pick up in the morning from your overnight hotel then drive to Arusha national park. In the park you will do a walking Tour. The walking Tour is assisted by an armed ranger and you will be able to see a variety of wildlife closer. This is a national park so expect to see many animal very close by you but you should not afraid as the guided armed ranger will be with you all the time. Lunch is picnic at Jikukumia waterfalls. After lunch walk back to the gate and get into the jeep for game driving in the park visiting the 7 Momella lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. Later in the evening drive to Outpost lodge for dinner

Day 2: Arusha National park – Tarangire National park

Early breakfast at 7:20 Am then pack your luggage’s ready for your Trip briefing with your guide at 7:45Am before you leave Arusha Town at 8:00am and drive to Tarangire park by Land Rover/Land cruiser, crossing the Maasai Steppe on your way to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s fourth largest and one of its most diverse. Stop at the picturesque park gate for the driver to fill up the parks registration book e. Full day game drive in the park enjoying viewing animals in the park. Soon, the impressive Great Rift Valley Escarpment will come into view – a 2,000-foot-high wall that rises up, improbably steep and incredibly tall, out of the flat plains. Elephants, Buffalos, pythons are seen easily regularly cross your path, unbothered by your benign presence and going about their daily routines. You’ll meander along bush tracks and explore the Tarangire River’s twists and turns, finding elephant drinking and playing in the refreshing waters. Late this afternoon you’ll arrive at your lodge where you can settle in and relax before dinner and your first night in the bush.

Day 3: Tarangire National park – Lake Eyasi Lake Eyasi

Is a very scenic soda lake found on the southern border of the Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area. This less visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western rift valley wall. This afternoon you will be introduced to the extraordinary people who belong to an indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’ (hunter-gatherer bushmen). The tribe inhabits the shores of Lake Eyasi as do the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. You will visit these tribes, which will include a visit to their homesteads, learn about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and much more. Some wildlife and a wide range of bird species can be viewed during walks around the lake, which can be arranged.

Day 4: Full Day at Lake Eyasi

Wake up early in the morning at 5:30am whereby will take a cup of fresh brewed Tanzanian coffee before you go out at 6:00am for Sunrise hunting expedition. Only bows and arrows will be used. The Bushmen hunt on baboons, and other small mammals. The Hadzabe don’t build houses. They live in caves and make shift shelters. This will be your memorable day and great experience in your life time. This will be four hours of hunting expedition. You will also join the Bushmen for walking tour in the bush searching for some roots for local medicine, honey etc. Bushmen’s eat roots, honey and small animals like rats, snakes etc. Learn how to make arrow and bows (can even make one to take with you back home). See special tree they use for making bows and arrows poisons. Visit Barbeig tribe and learn their way of life.

Day 5: Lake Eyasi – Ndutu Area

Early breakfast then drives to Ndutu area for a full day game drive. Ndutu area is an area within Ngoro Ngoro area with grassland plains which meet the endless plain of Serengeti. This area is among the best site as its not crowded and you are allowed to drive off roads while on game drive. Migration of wildebeests spend time here from late December to April whereby some of the groups move to seronera and some move to western corridor (kirawira and mbalageti river area). This will depend much on the weather too. This place is not crowded and you are allowed to do off road game drive close to the animals.

Day 6: Ndutu Area – Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast before you drive to the endless plain of Serengeti national park. Full days ‘discover Serengeti’ game drives. The day for the big cats – cheetahs, leopards and lions. Mostly you will go out for SUNRISE game drive to sunset. Sunrise game drives starts at 6:00am. More game drive till Lunch time (Hot lunch). After your hot lunch you will proceed with your afternoon game drive to sunset whereby you will drive back for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Exploring Serengeti National Park

This day will offer you an ideal opportunity to do an optional but unforgettable Hot Air Balloon flight, followed by a delightful champagne breakfast (available at a supplementary cost, but can be booked in advance).

After breakfast we head to the south-eastern side of the park, visiting the Barafu Kopjes and the Ngare Nanyuki River area, for our morning and afternoon game drives. Apart from the lion prides you find in the area, the Barafu Kopjes is the place to visit for possible cheetah sightings. The Ngare Nanyuki River area is also well known for being packed with game.

Day 8: Serengeti National Parks – Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area

Sunrise game drives start at 06:30am till 11:00am. When you’ll stop for Brunch (Breakfast and lunch put together) And after then the departs for the Ngoro Ngoro Crater with game drive en-route. At Olduvai Gorge, make a brief stop at the museum to view some of the incredible finds of Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey.

Day 9: Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara

Early morning game drive and return for late breakfast. After breakfast will we head for the Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 10: Lake Manyara – Moshi

After breakfast we will visit the local Market and villages around the Karatu, experience life in the local village setting, meeting local people, learning about their culture, agriculture and history of the area. We return the lodge for lunch and then transfer back to Arusha town where we will end our African safari adventure.

Food You will be served daily meals during this safari. To avoid health problems, use only bottled or filtered water for drinking and brushing your teeth. The vehicles always come stocked with plenty of bottled water to ensure you remain hydrated while on safari. The following dietary requirement(s) are served and/or catered for: Regular (typically includes meat and fish) If you have special dietary requirements, it's a good idea to communicate it to the organizer
